| | David
was born in 1952 and within 5 weeks was rushed into hospital for a life saving
operation. He was suffering from a condition known as pyloric stenosis, which
at this time was a life threatening illness, and despite his tender years was
operated on without anesthetic. As well as health issues David was referred to Great Ormond Street Children’s Hospital in 1955 at 3 years of age. The consultant referred to David as "a rather miserable, stubborn, difficult boy who has a lot of disagreements with his brother, but it is at first difficult to believe that this pain is just a neurosis." ’David married in his early twenties, set up his own business and went on to raise three children with his wife. However, his physical and psychological issues came to a head in the late 1980's during the breakdown of his marriage. In 1993 he started counseling to attempt to confront and resolve many personal issues. At this time he was diagnosed “as a schizoid personality, depressed and unable to maintain relationships due to severe narcissistic damage.” During his counseling David attempted to repair the broken relationships
with his family. There were a number of personal issues that he was trying to
come to terms with such as a lack of self belief. He was referred to a psychotherapist
who he was to work with for many dark days, weeks and years addressing many personal
issues which had been suppressed for many years. | ![]() | ||||
