From being a new-born babe till the moment we depart this life we are
all dependent on a relationship. Remember John Donne’s, ‘No Man is an
Island’?

We want, need, indeed crave, human relationships throughout our lives, be they
family, school friends, social, business or sporting.
We want to give and receive love, gain and maintain esteem from our peers and
be recognised and rewarded for any major achievements. We want to feel
needed and respected for who we are and we need to find and be with likeminded
souls.

Whatever the basis for a successful and happy relationship there has to be a twoway
respect as otherwise it is not a true relationship. Sometimes it takes a while
for such a relationship to develop. When it has, then it takes constant maintenance
to ensure that it remains happy and stable. Never take a relationship for granted.
